A multi-phase company branding campaign using an original superhero character. The Sonic Man character is designed to bring attention to the unique service offerings of the client as well attract and educate clients on how ultrasonic cleaning works and what can be cleaned. (We have completed Phase I of the campaign, and in 2022, we will launch Phase II.)
The beneficial process of ultrasonic cleaning is a mystery to most people. GEM Ultrasonic wanted something fun and memorable to attract and educate its clients on how ultrasonic cleaning works as well as on the many items that can be cleaned and restored using this method. Plus, a good number of GEM's customers are women with children, so what better way to make an impression than with a superhero.
What We Did
Our client loved the idea of incorporating a superhero into his brand messaging, so the idea of SONIC MAN was born. The client was so excited with this concept that he wanted to write Sonic Man's back story for the website while we created his look and identity. Sonic Man is now being used on ALL GEM Ultrasonic's online and offline marketing collateral, including vehicle graphics. Promotional videos have also been launched on social media and on GEM Ultrasonic's website announcing the new face of the company. Sonic Man has certainly become a conversation piece and enables our client to creatively talk about what he does and the benefits of his company's services. Our second phase of this campaign in 2022 is to bring life to our illustrated character by having a suit made and having an actor wear the suit for special school and educational events and promotions. We will also be creating a coloring book giveaway for kids, since they just loved the character in our focus groups. We have also been talking about adding a female counterpart to Sonic Man to appeal to female children.
